ASSDA

ASSDA

The Australian Stainless Steel Development Association (ASSDA) is a non-profit industry group that aims to increase the consumption of stainless steel in Australia.

Established in 1992, ASSDA represents up to 200 member companies including overseas mills, stockists and distributors, fabricators, engineering consultants, end users and service providers.

ASSDA could not continue without the valuable support of its sponsors and members, who work with ASSDA to grow the market for stainless steel.

They do this by:

Representing the industry’s interests at all levels of government and of the economy
Promoting awareness of the material and the industry by making stainless steel easy to use and the logical choice for designers and specifiers
Developing a strong and vibrant industry underpinned by the best technical and educational resources

ASSDA’s activities support the stainless steel industry by focussing on education and training, problem solving, networking, lobbying, promotion and accreditation.

Education and Training

ASSDA’s education vehicles include the popular Stainless Steel Specialist Course, seminars, videos, interactive packages and publications. ASSDA also offers free in-house architectural and engineering seminars – an excellent and convenient introduction to stainless steel for engineers and architects.

Problem Solving

ASSDA answers approximately 2000 technical inquiries every year, utilising its own technical specialist, as well as a wide network of metallurgists and stainless steel experts.

Accreditation

As the peak industry body, ASSDA is taking the lead to safeguard the reputation of stainless steel and the integrity of members’ work. ASSDA Accreditation will give asset owners and specifiers greater certainty that applications using stainless steel will be performed by technically competent industry specialists.
